About

The safety of those who provide care is of utmost importance to Futuro Health. In response to COVID-19, we have partnered with Pima Medical Institute and others so that current healthcare workers and first responders can update their skill sets for the COVID-19 pandemic. Healthcare workers and first responders have an opportunity to serve as an extra resource for mass testing upon receiving the necessary training.

This course is designed for healthcare workers including unit clerks, certified nursing assistants, medical assistants, EKG technicians, patient care technicians, lab assistants, surgical technicians, phlebotomists, first responders, and non-direct care professionals (environmental technicians, transporters, cashiers, receptionists). The course provides healthcare workers with the added skills and competencies need to assist with COVID-19 screening in a safe and effective manner.

The course is designed to be self-paced and fully online and is estimated to take under 2.5 hours to complete. The modules are developed by PMI and will be available on Futuro Health's learning management system. Futuro Health will offer a digital badge upon successful completion of coursework and accompanying competency assessment.

What's included:

1. Understanding COVID-19 disease progression; understanding and practicing the proper use of personal protective equipment; deep nasal pharyngeal swabbing technique for COVID-19 screening along with screening questions
2. Infection control precautions, asepsis and types of precautions
